KENTUCKY. REPEAL MEASURE Senate Committee to Hold Public Hearing in Contrast to Method Followed in the House. LOUISVILLE, Ky., Feb. 15. Senator R. C. Simmons, chairman of the committee on Kentucky Statutes No. 1, to which the pari-mutuel repeal bill was referred, has announced that there would be a public hearing on the measure next Wednesday afternoon. Friends of racing and those opposed to betting on race tracks will attend the hearing in large numbers, according to advices from Frankfort. Senator Simmons says that both sides will be given an opportunity to be heard. This was the reverse in the lower house, which passed the anti-betting bill after reporting it out favorably and refusing! the racing interests a hearing. Much comment has developed over the manner in which the measure was railroaded through I the lower house.
