Start good and slow. Won driving; second and third the same. BARNEY GOOGLE began well and. taking the lead quickly, held sway for the entire race, but had to be ridden hard near the end. ALEX AVOODLIFFE, also away well and showing much speed, saved much ground on the last turn, but appeared to be in tight quarters for a space in the stretch and finished gamely. BELLE II. raced prominently all the way. WILBUR O. WHITEHEAD ran a good race and finished fast after closing a gap. FOXMORE had no mishaps and ran much below his best form. Wen driving; second and third the same. EXCHANGE, away fast and showing tine speed, raced into a good lead at once and. under hard riding, outstayed BILLY KLAIR. The latter ran in closest and game pursuit and finished steadily wearing the winner down. JOU JOU was hard ridden and, coming fast in the stretch, tiuished with a rush. THREE SQUARE closed a big gap and ran a gcod race. ALADDIN raced forwardly for a half mile. RUBY ran a pocr race. POPPYE alto can do better. CAPTAIN COSTIGAN closed a great gap. KINDRED quit badly. CERTAIN, while running gamely, was outpaced badly in the fiist three-eighths, but, saving much ground when coming into the stretch, finished fast under hard riding and, taking the lead, drew away in the last seventy yards. MERCURY was ridden wide on the turns and lost ground, but tiuished resolutely and got up for second place in the last few strides. LAST ONE showed high speed in fast paccmaking, hut began tiring in the last sixteenth. HIDDEN JEWEL tired after going well for five-eighths. Won handily; second and third driving. BRUNEIiL began slowly, but gained steadily after going three-quarters and, taking the lead, drew away in the stretch to win with speed in reserve. OLD FAITHFUL favored by his light weight, ran a good race and made n game finish. IRISH PAT also raced well and finished gamely. FREEZY SNEEZY raeed forwardly, but was outpaced. OLYNTHUS was under hard restraint for the first mile Miid passed PEQUOT, but tired suddenly in the stretch. PEQUOT quit after leading for a mile and a quarter. Scratched 772SOXanthos, 91. REST PAL showed the most early speed and, making the pace fast, stood a hard drive through the last eighth. BARRACUDA was going fast at the ond. ISOSCELES suffered much interference from BARRACUDA on the first turn and from BEST PAL when lie came over to the inner rail in the stretch. The latter was far back to the last quarter, where he came fast and almcst got up to win. GOLDFIELI began slowly and was excessively used in disposing of INVICTUS and tired near the end. BUOADO tired in the last eighth. ROYAL DUCK, probably best, closed a big gap. SMART tired. GONDOLIER was far back from tho start.
