HAPPY GO LUCKY set a fast pace, but tired and was hard ridden to outstay GILDER. The latter was taken up in the first sixteenth, but closed a gap and finished fast. BIRD SHOT pulled up lame. CHINCOTEAGUE ran well, but tired from strenuous racing with GLABELLA. The latter began slowly and swerved to the outside on the stretch turn, then finished with a rush.
