Wen driving; second and third the same. ZEALOT set a gocd pace and was hard ridden through the final eighth and outstayed LADY LILLIAN. The latter saved ground on all the turns, was well ridden and finished fast and gaining. FAIR OBIENT was hard ridden throughout and, after looming up menacingly, tired. THE ARAUCANIAN set the pace under restraint until after entering the stretch, where he was hard ridden to hold DOCTOR CORBETT safe. The latter was also saved to the last turn, where he came fast, but could not overhaul the winner. WILD HEATHER, after racing in closest pursuit of the speedy pacemaker, tired, but made a grime finish. DOUBTFUL saved ground on all the turns and, hard ridden, did his best.
