The latter saved ground on all the turns, was well ridden and finished fast and gaining. FAIR OBIENT was hard ridden throughout and, after looming up menacingly, tired. The latter was also saved to the last turn, where he came fast, but could not overhaul the winner. WILD HEATHER, after racing in closest pursuit of the speedy pacemaker, tired, but made a grime finish. DOUBTFUL saved ground on all the turns and, hard ridden, did his best.
