Won driving; second and third the same. QUAKER raced VIRGE and FATHER DAMIEN into" defeat in the first half mile and gamely withstood GLABELLAS nish at the end. The latter was pocrly ridden and taken back after passing the half-mile post, but closed a gap with a rush at the end. ILLUSTRATOR ran well and outgamcd VIHGE in the final drive. The latter was much used in making the pace and racing CARRIE MOORE into defeat in the early running, tired, but finished gamely. CHOW CHOW saved ground on the turns and finished close up. DUKE OF WELLINGTON ran well, but had to he hard ridden to outstay RING ROSE. The latter raced well, but tired in the last sixteenth. PROMISING TOM was lame when going to the post. Was tiring in the end and just lasted long enough to withstand SUN BRAES challenge. The latter responded with a rush in the last fifty yards when his rider went to a drive. PEPPER TEA set a fast pace, but tired in the last sixteenth. SCISSORS and CUBA ENCANTO ran well.
