New Kentucky Racing Commission LOUISVILLE, Ky., March 20. Governor W. J. Fields of Kentucky has named Thomas A. Combs of Lexington as chairman of the new State Racing Commission. Gemill Senff of Mount Sterling, Polk Laffoon of Covington, W. I. Kohn of Louisville and Charles G. Middleton of Louisville are the other members named. These appointments must be confirmed by the state senate before the new commission takes office. All of the members of the commission, with the exception of Polk Laffoon, arc new appointees. Mr. Laffoon served on the old commission, of which former Senator Johnson N. Camden was chairman. Mr. Combs is in the lumber business at Lexington. He was formerly a member of the state senate, but abandoned politics several years ago. Mr. Senff conducts a weekly newspaper at Mount Sterling. Mr. Kohn is connected with a Louisville . department store. Mr. Middleton is a Louisville attorney. All of the new members of the commission have been interested in racing or breeding at one time or another.
