MOVE ON TO OTHER FIELDS Stables That Raced at New Orleans on the Way North Big and Burly Is Improving. NEW ORLEANS, La., March 20. The horses campaigned here by Tommy Taylor were transferred to Lexington this afternoon. With the same consignment went those that George Land raced here for the account of J. C. Milam. Lady Madcap, owned by Desha Breckinridge, intended for retirement to the stud, was among those that Land took back to Lexington. Some of the E. Cebrian and John Lowe-owned horses also went to Lexington during the afternoon. Chester Applegate has decided to keep his horses at the Fair Grounds until about April 15, when he will ship to New York for the Jamaica meeting. "Past experiences of early shipping to New York from here has not been profitable or pleasant," said Mr. Applegate. "Usually my horses have contracted colds en route or been forced out of training on account of some ailment and Ill change my method this year and tarry here a while during the time of continued cold weather in the East," concluded Mr. Applegate. Trainer William Hurley, in charge of the E. R. Bradley stable, is beginning a freshening up process of the horses he has raced here. They will be kept in these parts until the middle of April before being sent to Lexington. Training has been suspended entirely. Big and Burly, which was thought hopelessly ruined as a result of the injury he sustained in his last start, is progressing better than expected and some hope is entertained for his recovery. The torn ligaments are beginning to mend and the colt is not favoring the injured leg as much as he did. The swelling is gradually decreasing in the leg and there are times that he rests part of his weight solidly on it.
