VERONICA raced gamely and was wearing the winner down at the finish. FAIR KGEItIA closed a big gap in the last half. JACK HILL bled and was pulled up. BUSY BOB began slowly and worked his way up on the outside into second place, but tired in the last eighth. WHIRLWIND raced well to the stictch and tired badly. KERRY GIRL was sharply cut ofT at the half-mile post and was pulled up. PETER LEE ran well. The latter ran a go: d race, but tired after getting into a small lead. APRIL raced -well, but was driving hard at the end to outfinish CLOPORTE.
