COLUMBUS MEETING ENDS Judge Murphy Returns to Chicago to Prepare for Hawthorne Summer Meeting. rOLlMBUS. Ohio. May 12.— The local spring race meeting came to an end Saturday. Judge Joseph A. Murphy left for Chicago to make preparations for the Hawthorne meeting. During tlx- last week of May he will serve as presiding steward at Thorneliffe Park. Toronto. Later lie- will make a short trip t ast in the interests of the Chicago l erby and other stakes, returning then to Chicago until the epaatag of racing July :;. Murray did the starting Saturday afternoon. For rough riding Jo-.key H. Farland was set down for six days and J. Smallwood for ten days. Charles Hall reports that the good old campaigner Kuklux showed signs of going wrong and has been thrown out of training.
