EPINARDS EASY VICTORY | I Great French Horse Makes Successful Debut for Year at Long-champs Sunday Afternoon. SPECIAL CABLEGRAM. PARIS, France. May 12. Pierre Wer-theimers Kpinard made his first start as a four-year-old at Longchamps yesterday in • the Prix dArgenteuil and he scored such an easy victory that it virtually amounted to a walkover. Only three other horses atarted in the race. The lnx dArgenteuil is a seven-eighths of a mile race. !uy Garner was away poorly with Kpinard and he made no effort I to make up the lost ground for five-eigbths. When he gave the edit hi.s head he rushed quickly to the front and won pulling up by four lengths from Almaviva, on which Stephen Doaoghue had tin- mount. The other two horses were distant followers. Thfl race was run in 1 £4% and Kpinard was conceding twenty pounds to the others The Prix Greffulhe, for three year-olds, resetted in a deal heat betareea H. A. Kknayans Tapin and A. 1VI1. Tins N.-thou. Filibert de Savoie, the leading French hope for tin- Ascot Cold Cup, beat l.c | Capucin and Massine easily in the Prix do J i ailran at two miles and a half. An enormous crowd turned out for th-lacing.
