DERBY TRIAL RACE TODAY Black Gold, Wild Aster and Other • - Candidates to Clash at - - Churchill Downs. LOUISVILLE, Ky., May 12. Kentucky Derby aspirants now on the scene of next Saturdays great battle, will be given opportunity tomorrow in the Derby Trial, an allowance purse of ,000 at one mile, which is the carded feature on the Churchill Downs card for Tuesday. The race has attracted eight entries of which all with the exception of Princess Doreen, an Oaks candidate, are among the list of probable Derby starters. These include Mrs. P. M. Hoots. Black Gold, unbeaten as a three-year-old ; Mrs. Payne Whitneys Wild Aster; Pete Coynes King Gorin II.: Harned Brothers and Jones Glide; J. N. Camdens Dudley; Jack Weavers Colonel Gilmore and A. B. Hancocks Cloister. The race will mark the first public ap-pcarane of Black Gold since his arrival from Xew Orleans where he established a clean record of three victories in as many starts. The son of B!.-.ck Toney is in splendid condition and can be depended upon to run a creditable race. Wild Aster, which arrived here Sunday night, is the only easterner In the race. This gelding arrived in good condition and is fit and ready to race. His victory over Bracadale at Jamaica last Wednesday, when he ran three-quarters in 1:11 "-5. has drawn many adherents to him and he will attract a large following. King Gorin II. and Glide both won at the first asking last Saturday and thereby demonstrated their fitness. Dudley ran a creditable race Saturday although he was br-aten by King Jorin II. . 1 — -♦ —
