HIHAU.O began slowly, but raced into forward contention quickly and raced straight and. finishing fast and gamely, just sot up to win because best ridden. WILBUR C. WHITEHEAD began well and set the early pace, but swerved to the outside and lost much ground then finished extremely wide and swerving out all the way. BHJi WINFREY ran well throughout and finished resolutely. GALATIA ran well throughout, but tired after taking the lead. CHARLIE ANDERSON swerved badly Shortly after the start. FREDRRICKTOWN. close up from the start, raced under slight restraint in the early running anil slipped through on the inside on the stretch turn and, racing into a small lead, kept it in a game finish. BUCK POND set the early pace, then raced on the outside of CANO and passed him after entering the stretch, but tired badly in the final eighth. ESCOBA DORO began slowly, but worked her way up en the outside and finished with a msh at the end. DKRONDA made a rush while rounding the last turn, but tired. CANO showed early speed and raced into the lead but quit. PASSPORT i ■bowed speed. ATHELSTAN was outpaced in the early i tinning, but worked his way up on the inside and, crowding through between NOSK DIVE and THUNDERCLAP on the stretch turn, raced past the leaders 1 in the 8. retch and was going away at the end. THUNDERCLAP followed NOSB DIVB closely under Blight rest mint and, moving up steadily after rounding the last turn, outgamed him at the finish. NOSE DIVK shewed the most early speed and set a fast pace under restraint, but tired in the final • drive. HIGH PRINCE rar: well for three quarters. PRINCE OF UMBRIA began 1 qnickly ahd. setting an extremely fast pace, drew away into an easy lead, but tired badly in the final 1 drive. NAUTICAL raced well, but tired badly in the stretch drive. CHECK showed speed while rounding the far turn and was not ] orseveied with when he tired. Scratched— 79177Red Wingfield. 100; 79307Nose Dive, 107. MITAU was a forward contender r throughout and held BELCROSS safe at the end. BELC ROSS met with early interference, but closed 1 a gap when clear and outgamed SWEEPY at the end. The latter, on the inside all the way, was cut off on the stretch turn and tired badly in the final sixteenth. KEENAN ran well throughout. ORCUS set a fast early pace njd quit.
