SARATOGA TURF NOTES SARATOGA SPRINGS, N. Y., Aug. 14. Jockey F. AVeiner arrived from Chicago and joined the local riding colony. Earl Sandes condition remains satisfactory, while jockey Keating is improving. Charles H. Berryman, president of the Raceland Racing Association, was a visitor today. John Sanford shipped by van from the farm at Amsterdam today sixteen yearlings, which will be sold next Thursday. Frank J. Kearns distributed condition books for the Connaught Park Jockey Club meeting which will be held at Ottawa. Jockey C. Kummer was suspended by the stewards for three days for rough riding in the second race, in which he rode Flagship. AAilliam Myers reports that nominations for the Chicago Special are coming in satisfactorily. The Rancocas Stable, Audley Farm, Max Hirsch and other prominent stables have named potential starters. After the running of the second race Lucky Play and Ordinance, August Belmonts Trav-ers Stakes candidates were worked a mile and an eighth in 1 :5G with Lucky Play showing the way. The first mile was run in 1:42. The Audley Farm horses will be shipped to the Hawthorne track in Chicago. Princess Doreen is engaged in the 5,000 Special weigh t-for-age feature to be run August 23. Kay Spence trainer for the stable also announced that his attempt to bring Rock Minister back was a failure and that he feared the horse would not stand up. Harry Payne Whitneys Spinaway eligibles. Swinging and Elf, were worked out after the second race and each showed plenty of speed when Swinging finished out six furlongs in 1:14, easily while Elf ran the same distance in 1 :10. Swinging ran the first quarter in :23, the half in :18 and five furlongs in 1:01.
