SAM MENGEL was away well and raced forwardly from the start and lost some ground on the stretch turn, but came fast and gamely through the last eighth and outstayed STAY ON. The latter moved up with a rush after going three-eighths and made a game firlisli. MARGIE IC. came fast through the last eighth. CLIQUE came from far back and finished fastest of all. "WINNIE OWYNN suffered when taken back on the stretch turn. NEAT GIRL was going well at the end. PACIER quit badly after retting a fast pace to the stretch. Scratched S2018 Phyllis Gentry, 105. Won handily; second and third driving. EXTRA EDITION began slowly but clear of interference and, coming fast around the stretch turn, raced into the lead in the last twenty yards and won going away. DEVIL GIRL ran well for the entire race, but just lasted to save second place. WONG BOK was away somewhat slowly and suffered from much interference, but came fast near the end and gaining rapidly. JIMSON set the pace to the last eighth, but tired in the last sixteenth. WHIFF interfered sharply with several others in the stretch. TOWNSHNI set the pace briefly and quit. Won easily; second and third driving. RARN DOLLAR, away poorly and racing wide for the entire race, moved up with a rush in the stretch and outstayed GO FOIN, to win going away. The latter followed KEEGAN in closest pursuit under restraint and tired in the last few strides. KEEGAN showed the most speed and set a fast pace, but was done after going a half mile. MARK MASTER came over sharply and interfered with the others on the first turn, then raced into a good lead, but tired in the last eighth and was disqualified for fouling. LOUIS RUBENSTEIN met witli interference, but was racing gamely at the end. WILL WELLS was forced back on the first turn. RIVIERA wheeled at the start and was left. The latter raced forwardly and was gaining steadily in the last eighth. ROCKY MOUNTAIN raced into the lead on the backstretch, but began tiring after reaching the Htretch. PAUL MICOU suffered from some interference on the first turn, but closed a gap and tired in the last sixteenth. KAUILA had no mishaps. DORIUS tired badly. ENRICO set the early pace and quit. HARDMAN ran well and took the lead in the stretch, but began tiring after reaching the last eighth. BILLY WATTS closed a gap. HEAVY ARTILLERY quit badly after showing the most speed to the last turn.
