WINS DEAUV1LLE HANDICAP Rich French Fixture to Le Bala-yeur Yearling Sales Prove Decidedly Successful. SPECIAL CABLEGRAM. DEATJA7ILLE, France, Aug. 19. The Due deCazes Le Balayeur, a three-year-old chestnut son of Sweeper Orange Hedge, Avon the rich Deauville Handicap here yesterday afternoon. Steve Donoghue rode the English entry, Condover, into second place, half a length behind the winner. Vatard had the mount on Le Balayeur. Golden Hope, ridden by Semblat, was third, a neck farther back. The Aga Khans Le Bijou, ridden by Guy Garner, won the Prix Cabourg. The "big week" of the Deauville meeting began under decidedly unfavorable Aveather conditions. A cold rain Avas falling and conditions generally Avere not conducive to the comfort of the spectators. The yearling sales haAe been decidedly successful. One of the important factors in the strength of the market is the probable increase of twenty million francs in stake3 next year.
