Start good and slow for all but YANKEE PRINCESS. Won driving; second and third the same. DELMOR followed CAVE WOMAN close up; moved up -steadily when around the last turn and, passing the leader in the last eighth, held MALT safe in the final drive. MALT began slowly, but worked his way up on the outside and came wide on the stretch turn, but finished fastest of all. CAVE WOMAN showed the most early speed and raced LADY BOSS into defeat, but tired in the final sixteenth. HUON PINE ran a good race. YANKEE PRINCESS was practically left. LADY BOSS quit and can do much better. Won driving; second and third the same. SPARKLING WIT sprinted into the lead at once and, setting a fast pace under slight restraint, withstood a challenge from BEGINNERS LUCK and outfinished BAR-BARY BUSH in the final drive. The latter followed the leaders closely and, coming fast through the stretch, appeared to head the winner when a sixteenth from home, but was tiring at the end. BEGINNERS LUCK raced close up from the stretch, but tired near the finish. POLO GROUND ran a fairly good race. FLAMES showed early speed. DAY TRAP quit. LONG POINT was left. The latter set a fast early pace and stayed gamely in the final drive. BOTHER saved ground on all the turns, but tired in the final drive. CHERRY PIE, suddenly improved and close tip from the start, came on. the inside on the stretch turn and, racing into the. lead, outfinished REPARATION in the final strides. REPARATION s-et a fast early pace, hut was taken back and saved to the stretch, then came with a rush and would have won in another stride. DIOGENES ran a good race and was rushed into the lead,. but tired through the final sixteenth. PRINCE JAMES closed a gap and finished fast. ATHELSTAN rao well. DREAM MAKER quit. VULCAIN QUEEN, raced into a long lead soon after the start, saved ground on all the turns and easily held SLEDGE safe at the end. The latter worked his way up on the outside and crossed over sharply on the far turn and caused BRIGGS BUCHANAN to be taken up, then finished fast. COMEDY finished with a rush on the outside. BRIGGS BUCHANAN met with interference. LEVOY ran well. WILD GOOSE jumped the fence shortly after the start. Scratched 82110 May Party. 100; 82287 Lady Longridge, 98; S22S7 Dolomite, 103. TRIP- LIGHTLY was outrun for the first half, but worked her way up on the outside and, finishing fast and gamely, nosed out SUPERLETTE in the final stride. SUPERLETTE showed the most good speed from the last turn and. passing JOE MARRONE III., only gave way right nt the end. NIGHT MARCH raced prominently from the start and outgamed JOE MARRONE III. at the end. The latter set a fast early pace, but quit. RETIRE ran well.
