MONDAYS SARATOGA SALE t Twenty-Eight Head Go Under the Hammer for 1,150. Marshall Field III. Pays ,200 for Filly by Ballot Colt By Same Sire Brings Second Highest Price. SARATOGA SPRINGS, N. T., Aug. 19. The additional consignment from the Him-yard Stud, with those from the Saghonet Farm of C. H. Berryman, and Crunden and Frost of Middleburg, Virginia were the yearlings disposed of at the Monday night sale, under the auspices of the Fasig-Tipton Company. Weather conditions were far from ideal and a cold breeze forced the patrons to don outer wraps. The consignment numbering twenty-eight head, brought a total of 1,150 or an average of ,824. A chestnut filly from the C. H. Berryman consignment by Ballot La Religieuse by Polymelus was the outstanding star of the sale and brought top price. She went to Marshall Field III., on his bid of ,200. Desha Breckinridge, the Kentucky publisher, paid ,200 for a chestnut colt from the same consignment by Ballot Mary Cary, by Sain.
