MORE RAIN VISITS DORVAL Continuance of Inclement Weather Reflects an Attendance. Coed Program Is Spoiled by Scratches Golden Ilulo Wins the Feature for Commander Ross. DORVAL. PARK, Montreal, Que., Sept. 9. The weather jinx continued this afternoon to dog the footsteps of Fred Richards in his attempt to stage a successful race meeting at Dorval. Rain fell intermittently through the night and morning and the racing hours were not different. As a result the crowd was small and the track muddy. The card was a good one for an off day but the feature was wrecked by scratches. Only three competed in the Valor Purse. Golden Rule won it The J. K. I. Ross representative was opposed by Planet and Equity. They finished in the order named, Planet a length and a half behind the son of Wrack and Equity five lengths farther up the track at the end of the mile. Golden Rule was responsible for the second consecutive victory of the Ross colors in one of the tracks features. New Hampshire won for the Montreal horseman yesterday in the Lakeside Handicap. Golden Rule had little trouble in winning. Pete Walls took him to the front with the rise of the brarier, played with Planet every time the C. B. Shafer horse made a challenge and held him safe in the stretch run. Equity never was more than a starter in the race. Sea Fairy finished first in the opener. Wanderlust was second. Trigger beat the remainder of the two-year-olds in a field of eight. The race was at five and a half furlongs. Lee had the daughter of Sea King with the leaders from the start and won by half a length for the account of J. Samuels, a young horseman from Detroit. The field vas at the post for. eleven minutes. Exit won the second by a length. She carried Bourassa in the silks of G. A. Clothier. Thessaly finished second after setting the pace from the start of the five and a half furlongs within a few strides of the finish. Chow was third. Louanna made the pace through the threo-quarters of the third and won by a neel: from the fast finishing Hohokus. Winnipeg which raced in clcsest pursuit of Louanna "from the start dropped into the third place. The others were outrun. Sharpe rode the winner which belongs to C. B. Shafer. S. Lawrence had the mount on Our Birthday in the fifth and won by a length and a half with the son of Golden Maxim. Rex Gaiety finished second and Attorney Muir third. The race was at a mile and seventy yards. Our Birthday followed the pace closely, gained steadily in the first half mile, took the lead turning into the stretch and drew clear i, the final eighth. Carry On went extremely wide into the stretch in the sixth but got up in the closing strides to win by a neck from Wych Elm which beat War Tank a like distance for the second portion. The race was at a mile and seventy yards. Bourassa rode the winner, his second for the afternoon. Carry On carried the silks of the Silverdale stable. War Tank made the pace and Wych Elm moved into contention nearing the stretch just before Carry On made his turn to the outside. C. B. Shafers Little Clair won the seventh and completed a double for the stable today. Bourassa rode the filly, his third winner of the afternoon. He kept her close to the pace and finished out the mile and seventy at a length and a half in front of Herriard. Six lengths farther back came Jacques, the early pacemaker.
