TO REPLACE JOHN P. GRIER LEXINGTON, Ky., Sept 9. Thomas Piatt departed today for New York to attend the Macomber sale of breeding stock at Belmont Park Thursday. The firm of Carr and Piatt is in need of a young horse for breeding purposes, and it will be part of his mission while in the East to acquire a horse that has raced on New York tracks and is well known to eastern patrons of racing. Piatt stated that the need of a stallion at his place is a result of the sale of John P. Grier to F. Wallis Armstrong of Philadelphia by H. P. Whitney.
