LATONIA TURF NOTES LATONIA, Ky., Sept 24. Son of John, in the stable of Will Perkins, pulled up lame in his work this morning and in consequence was withdrawn from the sixth race. L. E. Moore brought only two, these being Hak Halki and Tikeh. Bodencopes string included Huon Pine and Miss Babe. The only one brought by M. J. Riordan was Follow Me. Jake Holtman, who acted as starter at the" recent Maple Heights meeting, returned to . Latonia and has taken charge of his stable which during his absence was in the care of T. H. Ryan. J. C. Milam announced that he would dispose of all of his horses in training together with a number of yearlings at public auction. The sale will be held in the Latonia paddock October 10. Gene Lutz, who came here today from the new Cleveland track, bought Novelty from J. B. Respess and Doc McMillan from C. Van Dusen. The horses will be shipped to Cleveland to race. Jockey J. D. Mooney arrived from Toronto to ride Black Gold in todays feature race. He will return to the Canadian city next Tuesday to ride Chloris in a stake, the closing day of the Woodbine meeting. Today witnessed the arrival of a number of stables from Aurora, including the establishments of M. Shapoff, L. E. Moore and M. J. Riordan. The Shapoff string was the most entensive and included Finday, Golden Lynn, Piedmont, Quesada, Hoy, Compact and Glen-tilt August Belmont, owner of Ladkin and other good horses that will carry his colors here in the principal fixtures that will have decision later, including the 0,000 International Special, advised General Manager Matt J. Winn that his horses . would be shipped from New York October 1, with expectations of their arrival the following day, and that Epinard would come with the Belmont horses.
