EPINARD IN FINE FORM NEW YORK, N. Y., Sept 24. After the running of the third race at Aqueduct today Epinard was brought on the track and, satrting from the barrier at the seven-eighths mark, ho showed a brilliant turn of speed, to be eased up at the end of a mile in 1:39. He bore out slightly as the barrier arose and Haynes whipped him away. He was quick to get going, as was evidenced when he ran the first eighth in 11 seconds. He went to the quarter in 22 making the second eighth in 11 seconds. A third eighth in 12 took him to the three-eighths post in 35, and then he put one in 11 to reach the half in 4G. The five-eighths were covered in 59, making that eighth in 12. Then a comparatively slow one in 13 seconds saw him at the three-quarters mark in 1 :12. The seventh eighth was run in 12 to reach that mark in 1:25, and he was being eased up in tho last eighth in 14, to finish out the work in 1:39. At no time was the handsome chestnut extended, and when ho appeared on the track he was a veritable picture of health and fitness.
