ENLARGING FAIR LATONIA Col. Matt Winn Preparing for Big Crowd Expected to See the International Special No. 3. LATONIA, Ky., Sept. 24. General manager Matt Winn has been quick to realize that a large part of the race-loving public will come to Latonia October 11 to see Epinard and the thoroughbred stars of America battle for the 0,000 added of the International Special No. 3. It has given him some worry to provide places for the record-breaking crowd that is already appealing for accommodations but he has solved the problem by additions to the club house and the baby grand stand that will comfortably shelter 10,000 more people than" can now be taken care of. When the architect and builder arrived in answer to an S O S call they found Col. Winn ready with practical plans outlined which only needed a few technical touches to make them perfect There will be a new building for the mutuels at the entrance of the club house which in case of inclement weather will take care of 5,000 people. The mutuel sellers and cashiers will be removed from the club house proper to this spacious structure, leaving room on the first floor for innumerable benches and chairs that will seat thousands. Although all the boxes have been sold there is assurance that every visitor to the club house will be comfortably provided for. Col. Winn is also completing an addition to the baby grand stand, north of the paddock, which will provide a much needed accommodation for the public that likes to see the horses saddled. Space has bsen provided for the shelter of 5,000 people and sufficient mutuel and cashiers booths have been built to meet the requirements. Although the conditions of the International Special No. 3 only provides that 0,000 shall be added, general manager Winn has arranged to give the winner a costly and beautiful gold cup as a souvenir of this notable turf event With the probability that there will be twelve starters the special will be worth ,250, the winner receiving 8,250, ,000 going to the second, ,000 to the third and ,000 to the fourth.
