INTEREST MAINTAINED f Aurora Patronage Continues Good Monday Crowd Inspiring. Tangerine Beats Rocky Mountain in Feature Tough Luck for Sorline. AURORA, III., Sept. 20. The weather was cool and the track slow for todays racing. There was an extraordinarily large crowd for Monday and it is apparent that the public is showing added interest in the closing days of the sport here. The plant should be taxed to its capacity from now until the end of the meeting. The. public fared well today, as the winners were well supported and no small number had wagers on the long shot Long Green, Boganowski rode his second victor for the day when he piloted Tangerine to success in the Mooseheart Handicap, that racer leading from start to finish, but doing his best at the finish to stand off Rocky Mountain, which was coming fast on the outside. Dorius, the other starter, was third. No time was lost at the start and Boganowski sent his mount into a good lead rounding the first turn. Rocky Mountain was the one to follow in closest pursuit of the pace all the way. The race was marred to some extent when Prince Tii Tii was scratched. Tangerine was made a top-heavy favorite and rewarded those who backed him. ZUCCHINI RETURNS. Zucchini, who returned to the saddle after ;erving a three-day suspension, made his presence known when he won the opening race on his new employers Anna M. Dough-jrty in easy fashion from the favorite, Sor-ine, which was eliminated at the start when le was as good as left. Test of Time got Uie short end of the purse. Zucchini lost no time after the start and sent his mount into i. good lead and won all the way. Sorline, vhieffhas been a hard luck horse and always las some excuse for not winning, was left at the post, but ran a winning race and with a jfocd start would have been home first. Tommy Doyles Test of Time was third, :hree lengths in front of Peter Decoy, which showed improvement over his previous starts. Mrs. J. Dreyer furnished the winner of the second race when Long Green scored from ten other platers at three-quarters. He was neglected "n the betting and paid a gcod long price. Sir Ralph, another outsider, was second and the favorite, Faber, was third. The start was a good one and Faber was tne first to show out of the bunch, with Anticipation and Polychresty in close pursuit. Golden Pine was in advance of the others. Faber, Anticipate and Polychresty started to shorten their strides as they turned into the stretch and there was a general closing up of the others in the rear. Long Green was an easy winner, with Sir Ralph beating Faber by five lengths for third place. BOOT BLACK POPULAR VICTOR. Boganowski and Boot Black proved a winning combination in the third race when they led the others "home by three and a half lengths. It was a popular victory, as the talent supported Boot Black heavily. Eddie Jr. raced to second place, with Vanishing Boy third. Boot Black never left the ultimate result in doubt after leaving the half mile ground, where he was enjoying a good lead. Kirah raced after him to the stretch but gave up the hcase and fell back beaten. Eddie Jr., which was second, raced on the outside of his field all the way and came fast in the final eighth, but Boot Black easily held him safe. Vanishing Boy raced prominently all the way to be third. Meddling Mattie, with the diminutive V. Moore up, was the winner of the fifth race when he got the verdict from Fifty-Fifty by a nose. Lady Choco was third. Lorena Marcellia, the favorite, was fourth, after showing good speed to the stretch turn and quit. They were off in good alignment and young Moore lost no time sending his mount into the lead but Gross, on Lorena Marcellia, was right with her and kept after his mount until he had her in front, but she gave up at the stretch turn and was an easy victim for Meddling Mattie. Fifty-Fifty, which had been outrun in the early stages, came around his opponents and was literally flying and it was a real good finish. Lady Choco was third. Little Ann finally made good after many attempts when she scored in the closing race after a hard stretch drive with Hasty Miss, and Flibbertygibbet was the one to be third. After four minutes delay they were sent away in good order and Zucchini rushed Archie Alexander to the lead, with Voogeria and Bonfire heading the others. Renihan sent Hasty Miss into the lead after reaching the half and Archie Alexander dropped to second and Voogeria third. Little Ann was gaining rapidly as she was circling her opponents rounding the upper turn. But Hasty Miss was still enjoying a lead of a length as they turned for home and looked a certain winner a sixteenth out, but Little Ann overhauled her and won by a half length.
