Won easily; second and third driving. SEA SAND raced in closest pursuit of BABY LANE to the stretch, then raced into thc lead and drew away when called on. RUNCHIEF raced in a contending position throughout and outgamed BABY LANE in the final drive. The latter showed high speed and "set a good pace to the last eighth, but tired finally. GOLDFIELD finished fast. POOR SPORT showed speed. MUSKALLONGE was away poorly, but ran worse. SURF jumped, cleanly "while making the pace and finished gamely, but tired right at the end. ORIONS SWORD, was always outrun, but finished well. SAINT SAVIN also finished fast. BOSS JOHN tired. Start good and slow. "Won easily; second and third driving. INITIATE was outrun early, but was patiently ridden and, making her move when nearing the stretch, raced into the lead and won with speed in reserve. JOY SMOKE took the lead when BALLOT BRUSH tired on the turn into the stretch, but tired slightly near the end. BONNIE OMAR was forced to be taken up slightly and came on the outside when impeded by the tiring BALLOT BRUSH, but came again and finished gamely.
