FAIR GROUNDS ACTIVITIES Improvements Under Way at New Orleans Course -Resurfacing of Track Finished. LOUISVILLE, Ky., Oct. 27. J. Stone Ware, who is in charge of alloting stabling room at the Fair Grounds, New Orleans, was an arrival to gather up additional applications for stall space from owners here. He stated that the many improvements instituted at the Fair Grounds were well under way and that the new roofing on the stables had been finished. The re-surfacing of the track proper had also been completed. Approximately 5,000 loads of virgin river sand has been put on the trade Mr. Ware also announced that the contractors, who will have charge of the work of enclosing the grandstand, have returned from Oaklawn, Hot Springs, Ark., where they secured a model for their enclosing plans. Other improvements to the grandstand are .in contemplation and will be fully completed before the opening, New Years Day. Mr. Ware will remain in these parts until Thursday, when he returns to New Orleans.
