IRISH MARINE, racing close to the pace from the start, was carried wide entering the stretch, but closed gamely under pressure and outlasted ZUKER in the closing strides. ZUKER set a fast pace from the s.tart and saved ground all the way, but hung in the closing strides SWEET ANN closed fast in the stretch after losing ground. SANCY went well. She came wide entering the stretch and drew away into an easy lead. CI1ESTERBROOK went wide entering the stretch, but finished with gocd courage. BLISSFUL raced NELLIE GREY- into submission and held on well. LEOPARDESS ran away six furlongs on the way to the post and jumped the fence onto the training track. She tired badly. OSAGE went well. He was bumped and thrown off his stride at the sixteenth fence by WOODLEY II.. but closed under pressure and just outlasted ELMER JOHNSON. The latter moved up steadily and followed the pace, lie was gaining on the winner, but tired badly. WOODLEY II. moved up with a rush under severe Ut swcrvcd and stumbled at the sixteenth fence. PIRATE GOLD went well all the way. AB1DOS was outrun.
