DUETTISTE was hard held for two miles and moved up resolutely when called on, but could not overtake the leader. DUNKS GREEN raced and jumped well and had no mishaps. COURTEOUS led for nearlv two miles and tired AUTUMN BELLS was going fast when he fell at the fourteenth jump. JOY SMOKE showed a good order of speed and finished well, but was no match for the winner. INITIATE raced gamely, but tired near the end. SUNNY MAN was knocked against CRUMPLE when SILVER FOX swerved -gainst him shortly after the start and was knocked off stride, but recovered quickly and began to gain on the leaders while coming around the last turn and, coining fast in the stretch, swerved in behind CANDY KID and it was necessary to take him up to get him started again, then finished with rare gameness and, after winning, was worked out seven-eighths in 1:25 and a mile in 1:40. CANDY KID ran an excellent race, but tired in the final strides. SILVER FOX set a fast early pace and tired, but finished gamely. The others were outpaced. PRISCILLA RULEY was unprepared at the start and was off slowly, but was running fast at the end. OPPERMAN finished fast and gaining. GOLDEN CUP and ROYAL OAK ran well but tired. The others were practically left at the post.
