PAWNBROKER was rushed up on the outside and, forcing a fast pace to the last turn, took the lead and drew away momentarily at the final eighth post, but had to be shaken up at the end to outstay TOOTERS. The latter set a good pace and came again after being passed by the winner. BRAZOS made up ground rapidly in the last three-eighths. MAYOR HOUSE suffered from efforts to "place" him, but made a fast finish. SHE DEVIL had a rough race around the last turn, but ran a game race and was gaining through the stretch. TIMELY THOUGHTS showed much speed and, forcing the pace throughout, finished in the deepest going, but outstayed SEQUAN. The latter was rushed up to the leaders and, in the stretch, challenged STEVE E. an eighth out, but tired. LETTER F. was close up in the early racing, but began dropping back. CORDON ROUGE could never get to the front and quit in the final eighth. SUPER LADY showed more speed than usual, but tired. DOLPn, showing a good order of speed, raced up rapidly on the back Btretch and, catching FRANK FOGARTY on the far turn, passed him easily and came away to win hard held. MARY CONTRARY made up ground rapidly through the final half mile and finished wide in the best going. FRANK FOGARTY showed more speed than usual, but gave way when challenged by the winner and tired in the stretch. PLANET appeared sore when going to the post and dwelt at the start. The latter was on the outside all the way and was gaining fast at the end. FALSE FACE set a fast pace, but tired in the stretch drive. SUNSPERO raced fairly well and had a rough race through the final eighth. SCISSORS ran a good race from a slow beginning.
