LATEST TURF GOSSIP FROM NEW ORLEANS NEW ORLEANS, La., Dec. 10. Louis Brown is an arrival from Phoenix, Ariz., with the horses Don Juan and Master Blue. Jockey J. Rivet, a New Orleans youth made his riding debut at the local meeting on Sun Caris in the second race. Racing secretary Joseph McLennan will announce the Fair Grounds stake dates Thursday. E. L. Snyder has been granted a trainers license. He recently arrived from Maryland with the horses Merrimac, Virginius and Dernier Sou. Jockey J. J. Majestic is the latest additions to the ranks of local riders. He has been granted a license and will begin riding in a few days. Mrs. V. Manale, owner of San Hedron, lodged a claim for a horse in the first race, but as it was not filed fifteen minutes before post time, it was disallowed by the stewards. Louis Brown and Vincent B. Young have been granted trainers licenses. Young has been engaged to handle the horses that J. J. Troxler recently brought to the Fair Grounds from Lexington.
