The latter was away somewhat slowly, but raced into second place and finshed gamely. CANDY STICK closed a gap and came fast through the stretch. FP.ENCII LADY had a rough race and finished well. HUBB AND IUDD closed a big gap in the last quarter. LOTTO sot the carlv pace and tired badly. Scratched SH77C. T. ARRAGOSA raced in closest pursuit, finished gamely and would have won under a stronger rider. SMUTS was gaining steadily through the stretch and finished fastest of all.
