LIBYAN QUEEN began slowly, but worked her way up on the outside until well around the far turn, then saved ground when entering the stretch when the leaders came wide and, finishing fast, was going away at the end. ST. FAUST was forced wide when entering the stretch and was jostled by SUZUKI at the eighth post, but outgamed the latter in the final drive. SUZUKI ran well throughout. Won driving; second and third the same. TI1E GAFF raced into a long lead soon after the start, but had to be hard ridden to withstand the challenge of GONWITHIM. The latter made a wide turn into the stretch arid finished fast, but tiring. ST. ANGELINA ran well, but just lasted to withstand the challenge of the fast-coming LIEGE. The latter closed a gap. KIDNAP- was away in close quarters next to the inside rail, but came fast after appearing to tire at the head of the stretch. LESLIE began slowly, but gained steadily on the outside and finished close up. SILAER SPRINGS and EELMAN ran well. EGE was rushed into the lead and, setting a fast pace, was never given a breathing spell and tired. THE DICTATOR raced well, but just lasted to withstand the challenge of DANGER CROSS. The latter began very .slowly and was last to the stretch turn and, although he made a wide turn -into the stretch, was wearlag the leaders down at the end. PETER BKOAVN showed the most speed in the early racing and drew away to a long lead in the first quarter, but tired in the stretch. CLOAER fell after getting, into a jam in the back stretch.
