LEXINGTON TURF GOSSIP LEXINGTON, Ky.. April 3. Robinson T. Judy of Mt. Sterling, reports the loss of a Lne foal by Huon II., out ol Abess. The mare will go to Spanish Princt II. this season. John Hertz, master of Leona Stock Farm, Chicago, owner of Luke McLuke and a band of good mares, is here, the guest of J. O. Keene at Keeneland Farm, where Hertz1 mare. Cotton Blossom has a fine foal. Judge William H. Shelley motored ovei from Ijouisville this afternoon to give attention to the book for the spring meeting ol the Kentucky Association, which now is in the hands of the printer and will be out by the week end. Captain Goodloe McDowell and wife have returned from Cuba and are the guests ol Major and Mrs. Thomas C. McDowell until April 23, when they leave for New York where Captain McDowell is to take up hia duties as one of the officials at tracks ol The Jockey Club. Two foals arrived during the night at Clyde Van Dusens Few Acres Farms, both by imported Torch Bearer, one being a black flly from Retta B., property of Col. W. E. Applegate and the other a bay filly from Beautiful Girl, the property of Clyde Van Dusen. Torch Bearer is the property of Messrs. Phil T. Chinn and Clyde Van Dusen and is making the season at the Van Dusen farm. Mr. Van Dusen will arrive here on April 11 with the horses he has been racing at Tijuana. R. W. Collins was notified that Precious Pearl, dam of his Derby colt, Lee O. Cotner, is being bred to Thunderer at H. P. Whitneys farm, near Lexington. — ■ ♦—
