BOWIE TRACK NOTES BOWIK, Md., April 3. Friday 13th was excused from the fourth | race on account of lameness. William Garth made his first appearance: of the meeting looking exceedingly well. Mayor Bader of Atlantic City and Mr. Earl j of the same resort were visitors of the day. Vic Britton, well known to racing some I years ago, made his first Bowie appearance today. Edward Arlington has been negotiating for the purchase of a two-year-old from the J. S. Cosden string. The New York sportsman returned home tonight. There were two claims came out of the races Wendesday when Sam Louis took St. Martins for ,200 and J. H. Steffans claimed Despair for ,500. Some of the Preakness and Derby candidates that are named to start tomorrow are Cloudland, Noah, Dazzler and Dr. OMara. Noah and Dazzler meet in the five and a half furlongs of the Springtime Handicap, Cloud-land is in the seven-eighths of the Capitol Handicap and Dr. OMara is named for the mile and seventy yards of the Parkway Purse. These are three of the features for the first Saturday of the season.
