FRIEND JOE had a rough race. DEEP BLUE showed speed to the last Sixteenth. MI AMIGO was crowded out in the first sixteenth. LETTER SIX fell, bat his rider escaped injury. Won driving; second and third the same. LAKE CHAPALA began slowly on the outside, but worked her way forward gradually and closed up rapidly in the stretrh to win drawing clear. SHASTA RAPIDS set the pace and easily outran JENKS, but tired in the final sixteenth. JENKS followed the pacemaker closely and outfinished the others. DON1TA saved ground on the turns. BLACK WAND was well placed early and ran a good rare. SPORTSMAN made up ground steadily and finished fast. BILLY STAR was always outpaced and tired ! adly in the iast eighth. POPPINA ran poorly. MELACHRINO raced within striking distance of the winner to the last turn from where lie moved up with a rush, hut tired in the final strides. ALL OVER was poorly ridden and was allowed to dn.p too far back when the raring began around the turn, then rame with a rush. SPREAD EAGLE rared into the lead, but tired from his early efforts.
