MATCH RACE NOW ASSURED Stephen Sanford Agrees to Sergeant Murphy Taking Part in Proposed Contest at Sandown SPECIAL CABLEGRAM. LONDON. England. April 9.— Stephen Sanford. American owner of Sergeant Murphy, has sanctioned the participation of his horse in the proposed match race with Music Hall and Shaun Spadah at Sandown Park April 25 and all obstacles to the project are now | believed to have been removed. All three horses in the match .are winners of the Liverpool Grand National Steeplechase in recent years. Tom leader has been selected to ride Sergeant Murphy in the match race. This ! jockey is thoroughly acquainted with the I peculiarities of the Sanford veteran and he appears to be an excellent choice for th. j l ■. The financial arrangements for the race I have not been settled. The amount to be I added by the Sandown management is also yet to be fixed and the amounts to be put into tin: sweepstakes. None of the three horses is being given any special preparation for the race.
