FICTILE gained steadily in the stretch and finished fast. JOSEPHINE C. set a good pace to the last eighth, but tired badly in the last sixteenh. LOTTIE LORAINE tired after moving up into a contending position on the turn for home. DALTON was crowded against the inner rail in the stretch turn and forced to be taken up sharply. PETER PIPER was sore when going to the post and was forced wide in the stretch, then was tiring at the end and pulled up lame. FRANK SUMPTER suffered from serious early interference.
