EVALYN HARRIGAN escajied the crowding and, saving ground on the turns, finished fastest of all. MARGARET MADISON was another to begin fast on the outside and was a close contender to ttie final eighth, where she tired. LADY SMALL was close up all the way. ETHEL BROWN met witv interference soon after the start and made up some ground. LADY TIPTOE was caught in a jam just after the start and went down. Her rider escaped serious injury. CHOPSTICKS began slowly and was rushed up and made a challenge when entering the stretch, then tired. STEVE E. met considerable interferenc. VENO SHOT reared in the air at the start and lost ground, but rukhed into a slight early lead, then gave way rsadily when challenged in the stretch.
