RELENTLESS raced into a long lead in the first turn of the field, jumped in faultless fashion, and won under restraint. LORENZO, a promising jumper, was saved close up for the first mile, then made a fast and game finish. TRAPSTICK was always prominent and jumped well, but tired badly in the last half. Won driving; second and third the same. WELSHOT was waited with close up in the home stretch, then easily passed FORETELL at the sixteenth post, but had to be hard ridden to withstand SHAMPOOS challenge. The latter came through fast next to the inside rail and finished in very close quarters. FORETELL, a rapd beginner, showed the most speed in the early running, but tired. MISS BLAZE ra.-ed to the leaders with a rush soon after the start, but tired in the stretch drive. GETTYSBURG was going fast at the end. FAMINE shoued early speed. SARAZEN took the lead at once and, setting a great pace all the way, won under lgtht I restraint and like the great race horse he Is. SPOT CASH, very fractions at the post, began in a l tangle, but closed an immense gap and outgamed JOY SMOKE in the stretch drive. The latter was a close up contender for the entire way and ran a capital race. RUSTIC and CHACOLET closed great gaps and finished fast.
