PIMLICO TURF NOTES BALTIMORE, Md., May 1. Away II. was badly cut down in the running of the steeplechase. X. Daniel claimed Soggarth Aroon for ,000 out of the third race. Dr. F. V. Ashe was at Pimlico doing missionary work for the Mount lloyal Jockey Club. Mr Maxwell is taking the place of F. R. Hitchcock during the latters absence in France. I. K. Fitzgerald left for New York yesterday to replenish his string prior to shipping to Toronto. EL D. Snydr-r and J. Don have arranged to ship their horses from Havre de Grace to Thorncliffe tomorrow. H. G. Bedwell, by having bred Forelady. won an additional premium of 00 as she-was bred in Maryland. K. 1*. Summerfield sent his good mare Tidings to the court of Sarmation, wheih is sUinding at the Belair Stud in Maryland. Arthur A. Fowler, Reeve Schley and their associates in the Somerset StaJale, promise to be on hand whenever Rock Bass goes to the post. Com. J. K. I.. Ross, who is putting up at his farm ne;ir Iaurel. came over with a party of friends to witness the running of the Dixie. F. M. Alger, another prominent Detroiter, who has gone in for stee-pleehasing. is here for the meeting. His jumpers are being looked after by J. Healy, Sr. Mrs. Wessen Seyburn, who with her husband races under the name of the Win-burn Stable, will be here in a few days. Both are prominent socially in Detroit society. Some of the stewards of The Jockey Club, whose colors will be seen at the meeting are J. E. Davis, A. H. Morris, H. W. Maxwell, Thomas Hitchcock, William Woodward and R. T. Wilson, Jr. W. J. Salmon came over from New York to help give the meeting a good send off. The Salmon colors are very popular with Pimlico racegoers. Primrose being a special favorite with Marylanders. Instead of starting Aga Khan in the Dixie Handicap Fitzsimmons worker the Lawrence Realization winner a mile andva furlong in 1 :59%. He went the mile in 1 :46 and waa under restraint all the way.
