Won handily; second and third driving. BILLIKEN, away well and, racing close up, ran out badly when entering the stretch, but came with a rush in the stretch into the lead and won going away. CAMPHOR BALL began slowly, but finished gamely and wearing the winner down. DOWNCAST swerved badly before entering the ttretch and ran out on the stretch turn, but finished well. CHRISTINA, away well, set a last early pace, but swerved into the deep going in the streteh. QQAQC SECOND RACE— 5 1-2 Furlongs. May 16, 1924— 1:04%— 3— 100. RUBAN ROUGE was outrun to the last turn, then came through the stretch with a rush and. passing the leaders, was shaken up after taking the lead, but won going away. EAGERNESS showed the most sjK-ed from the start and raced EPISODE to defeat before entering the stretch, but tired in the final drive. RIGEL propi ed at the start and was taken very wide on the first turn, then rushed into second place, but came wide when entering the stretch and tired badly in the final sixteenth. LADY BOSS sprinted into a safe lead at once, saved ground on the turns, was shaken up after entering the stretch, but held the race safe to the end. AKBAR raced in closest pursuit but was tiring badly through the final eighth and just lasted to save second place. GALATIA lacked early speed, but came to the outside on the stretch turn and finished fast. FAIR-LIGHT dwelt at the start and finished with a rush. Overweights— Ted, 1 % jiounds; Nora Hayes, 2%.
