Twenty Years Ago Today Chief Turf Events of May 13, 1905 Racing at Be.mont Park, Churchill Downs, Kansas City. Union Park and Fair Grounds at St. Louis. George C. Bennett, supposed to be the bst two year old at Churchill Downs, galoped away from his opponents in the fifth race today, du plicating his easy victory cf the opening day. Starter Dade says that Gregor K. ruined the start in the fifth race at the St. Louis Fair Grounds today by swerving badly as the barrier went up and forcing all but Ethics and Terns Rod to pull up. Gregor K. won. At least 8.000 people were present. In the Kenton County Court at Covington Tuesday, a judge will hear the petition of the Heuchmann Cox Rhinock interests for an order restraining judge Perkins and the cU off.ciab frcm exercising authority over the coming meeting of the Latcnia Jockey Club. If the restraining order is granted, the meeting will open on June 5 under the rules cf the American Turf Association. Otherwise it will be opened May 27 under the rules cf the Western Jockey Club, though with the outlaw rub inoperative. This will mean a clash for seven days with the Louisvilb meeting, which has been extended to June 3.
