« — ____ CHURCHILL DOWNS Latest Turf Notes From Famous Kentucky Track LOUISVILLE. Ky., May 12. Governor "Ma" Ferguson of Texas and her husband, former governor James Ferguson, of the Lone Star State, are coming for the Derby. Reservations have been made at a leading hotel for the famous couple and they are due to reach here from Austin, Texas, Thursday morning, to remain over until Sunday morning. Approximately 1.300 horses are stabled at Churchill Downs and Douglas Park. This is the first time that Douglas Park has almost been filled to capacity with the Churchill Downs overflow. Arcaloosa, in the Audley Farm Stable, died this morning from an infection. Todays arrivals included William Mc-Adoo. who will remain until the running of the Kentucky Derby. Mose loldblatt bought at private terms the Greentree Stables Barbary Bush. L. T. Cooper, who is in quest of a representative to start in the Kentucky Derby, was negotiating this morning with Hal Price Headley for the transfer of Almadel. Emil Herz was among the arrivals to remain for the remainder of the meeting. Charles Baccharach, of New Orleans, whose horses will be raced here, was among the newcomers and will remain for an indefinite stay. Post time for the first race on Derby day will be 1 :45 p. m. King Nadi was given a slow mile and an eighth and Lee O. Cotner went three-quarters.
