LORENA MARCELLIA FIRST Wins Main Race at Maple Heights for Jones Stock Farm Stable — Close Finishes Feature. CLEVELAND. Ohio, May 12— The Jones Stock Farm Stable furnished the winner of the principal race of Tuesdays program at Maple Heights when Lorena Marcellia was home first in the fourth race, defeating Variation by a length, with the latter outlasting Peter Brown by a nose. It was the latter that showed the way to midway of the stretch, where he tired and the daughter of Seth assumed command to draw clear at the end. The track was fast and with clear, seasonable weather prevailing, a goodly crowd was on hand to witness the sport. Two-year-olds made up the field in the opener and E E. Majors Mabel Seth earned a close decision over Boosting, with Go Through in third place. An even dozen cheap ones, maidens three-year-olds and over, met in the second and Towtons Rose graduated after closing a big gap to get home in advance of Stage Star, Miss Kmmert and Thomas Piatt, the smallest of margins separating the last-named trio for the minor portion of the purse. Millwick was best in the three-quarters of the third race, for. after getting away slowly and being outrun to the stretch, closed a big gap and. catching the leaders in the final eighth, outlasted them to score by a half length. A close finish marked the fifth race with three outsiders fighting it out at the end. Froth. Pawnbroker and Tister crossing the winning line in the order named. • 1
