SANOLA AND LONG POINT Furnish Thrilling Finish in Main Contest at Orlando, First Mentioned Winning. ORLANDO, Fla., April 8— Sanola and Long Point fought it out through mud in a thrilling finish in the handicap which featured todays program at Seminola Park. The Hedderman mare beat the Fought gelding by three-quarters of a length at the end of three-quarters of a mile. He was asked to give tlie mare eight pounds, Aron rode the winner .launebar, four-time winner in cheaper company, finished third, but neither ho nor any of the other starters ever threatened the first two. Sanola rushed to the front at the start and showed the way throughout. Long Point followed her closely to the stretch and made up ground under pressure, but was not good enough to catch the winner. The track was muddy and the crowd small as a result of a near deluge in the morning. Oaplinger. which has been leading the best youngsters here for three-eighths, held his advantage to the end of a half mile in the mud to best Nestle by a length in the opening dash. Anderson rode him, wearing the silks of [* I. Stark. Atropos finished third. Anderson piloted his second winner of the afternoon when he scored with Quiet in the silks of S. H. Edwards. The Transvaal gelding followed Sir Glen, Quota and Jim Daisy-while the trio were fighting it out during the early stages. He w- n own Sir Glen in a furious drive, the 1 • f which was in doubt until the final : The judges awarded him the decisio I a head, and Quota outlasted Jim Daisy for third place. H. L. White, the star rider of yesterday, piloted French Canadian to a length victory over Oil Lady in the fourth race. Jascger was third at the end. The first two alternated in the lead, but the G. K. Keller representative drew away in the final sixteenth. The others were outclassed, and the winner a pronounced odds-on choice. F. Kpperson, under apprenticeship to Eu-gene Lutz, rode the first winner of his career in the third race. He piloted Dora Lutz. which bears the colors of the girl for whom she is named. Dora Lutz caught Black Friday tiring in the stretch and drew away. Black Friday finished second and Cottager third. Silk Sox bad no trouble winning the sixth. It was at three-quarters. H. L. White rode him, his second winner of the day. He picked an opening for the Oklahoma Stable gelding when straightened out and drew away. Shindy circled the others and finished .second. The Peruvian made the pace but tired. Boom Mate, ridden by E. T. Moore, won the final race for Blair Mock. Super Lady and Marie Maxim finished second and third respectively. Boom Mate was the longest priced winner of the meeting.
