THIRD WIN FOR NEW MOON Beats Slow Time and Lafe M. by-Narrow Margin — Heavy Rain Mars the Racing. HUNTINGTON, W. Va., April S. W. M. Cains New Moon scored her. third success of the present meeting when she won by a narrow margin from Slow Time and Iafe M. in the fourth race which attracted the hest held of the day at the Fair Grounds. The winner found an opening next to the inner rail when Lafe M., the pacemaker, carried Ielion and Slow Time wide during the stretch racing. It was a close finish and a rather lucky victory for the Cain color bearer. Slow Time was probably best but jockey C. R, Allen was blinded with mud and unable to do his mount justice. Jockey Morrow, who piloted Lafe M.. was reprimanded by the stewards for his rough riding. A heavy rain which fell during the greater part of the afternoon rendered the track muddy and was responsible for a decrease in the attendance. D. Smith, who rode New Moon to victory, came back in the following r.u-e arid made it a double when he brought Crestwood Boy home two lengths in advance of Bar Light. The latter set the early pace, but was no match for Crestwood Boy when he challenged in the stretch. The favorite drew clear at the end. The sixth race, at a mile and seventy yards, wound up in a duel between Dustproof and Chestnut Oirl. first and second choices respectively, and they finished in the order named. Dustproof going away in the final sixteenth. The veteran Bapid Stride, always at his best in the mud, found todays going to his liking, and won the first race, though he was forced to the limit to outlast Little Romper. Only a head separated the pair at the end, and the latter would have won in another stride. The second race fell to Incle Abe, from H. K. Arnolds stable, with Kuten and Satana dividing the remainder of the purse. The latter closed a big gap in a sensational finish, to get up for third place. a
