Dick Welles* Selections At Bowie r. ; t; r t g a a t f n r FLORIAN— GOLDEN PESSAXT-MASTF.R WILLIAM. FLORIAX. a speedy trick from the stable of H. P. Whitney, is given the call in the opening race over his stablemate, GOLDEN PEXXAXT and eight other juveniles. He ran a corking race in his only appearance and just missed getting the decision. GOLD-EX PENNANT has been working like a champion and should be the one to chase his stablemate home. MASTER WILLIAM gave a good account of himself the other day and should "be the one to get the show. BREAKERS AHEAD— DUBRIC— SEX ATE. BREAKERS AHEAD looks like the most likely one to graduate in the second number, which calls for maiden three-year-olds to race over the seven-eighths distance. The track conditions should be in his favor, and if he runs back to his last race is expected to cop. DlBRICS last race was a fair one and is liked for the place. SENATE was the medium of a heavy play his last race and he may do better today. JACQUES— CAMOlFL AGE— OBLIQUE. JACQUES scored a narrow victory his last race when he beat Buttercup a nose. The same race here would again see him the winner. CAMOUFLAGE has been coming along in a manner to suggest that he will soon be ready for a winning effort and is the one liked for the place. OBLIQUE was just getting in winning form at Miami when that meeting came to a close and if he has retained that form should do well here. BUTTERCUP— HOBSOX— GEX. CADORXA. BUTTERCUPS recent races have all been good ones and she should now be ready for winning race. Look for her to get out in front today and lead all the way. HOBSON finished behind BUTTERCUP in his only Bowie race and is the one expected to furnish the most contention. GEN. CADORXA raced well at the Mobile meeting and though the company is a little stiff er in this race, he should be able to get the show money. CUDGELLER— FEYSUX— GOLDEN BILLOWS. 1 CUDGELLER is the one expected to be | returned the winner in the fifth race, known | as the Xational Vaudeville Artists Handicap. | He is asked to shoulder top weight, but if he | has returned to his last year form, and it , is said that he has. should have no trouble ] in getting home in front. FEYSUN and the consistent GOLDEN BILLOWS are the ones expected to cause him the most trouble, with the former looked upon as the most likely of the two to land in second place. FEYSUN has been clocked doing some fast moves and he is also benefited by the going. GOLDEN J BILLOWS also likes the heavy footing, but is not expected to repeat her last race when she was returned the winner. FORXOYO— SANDPILE— GONDOLIER. In figuring the probable winner of this race, the most recent races of FORNOVO have to be passed to give him a chance. He has not started this year and is reported to i be in fine fettle at the present. The track j j conditions should also be in his favor, as he likes the muddy going. SAXDPILES last two races were not much, but he is able to do better, and is looked upon to land in second place. GONDOLIER has not been to the races this year but he likes the peculiar Bowie course and should fare welL BEX HANDLY— MARY CONTRARY— ROXANA. BEX HAXDLY showed a decided improvement in his last race over a preceding start, and if he has improved as much for this race, should be the victorious one. MARY CONTRARY ran a good race to finish second to Yoshimi in her last out and is the one expected to cause the winner the most trouble. ROXANA scored a game win her last out but she was in a measure lucky, and is not expected to repeat.
