JAMAICA TURF NOTES JAMAICA, P. I.. N. Y.. May 6. S. . Hildreth ha-s decided to send Nichavo to Pimlico for his engagement in the Preak-ness Monday next and. should he perform in a satisfactory manner, the same car will be used to take him to Ijouisville for the Kentucky engagement. Should his race in the Prcaknefs fail to satisfy Hildreth, the colt will be returned to Helmont Iatk. Kouis Feustel will ship Hiali Star to Louisville Tuesday to have him represent the Log Cabin Stud Stable in the Derby. W. P. Walker has engaged a special car for the Kentucky Derby and. with a party of friends, he will leave New York May 1". M. Hackett will ship a dozen to Thorn-cliffe for the coming Canadian meeting. W. S. Kilmer will send a string of seven to Toronto for the Woodbine meeting. John J. Brady. Jr.. in charge of horse shipments, has also taken on the selling of tickets on the Derby Special from New York and has disi osed of a number of them at Jamaica. By a recent ruling, there will be a reduction in the number of men permitted with each car to load race horses. Formerly six men were allowed to a car east of the Mississippi and only two west of the Mississippi. Now the order has come that, effective June 7, only two men will be allowed to the car, east as well as west of the Mississippi. Horsemen are fighting this new order and have hopes to bring about its rescinding. Marshall Cassidy. who officiated as starter at the Tijuana meeting, was a visitor of the day. John Whalen arrived at Belmont Park with twelve horses, the property of the laurel Park Stud. Sandy McNaughton claimed Martha Martin out of the Olympic Claiming Stakes for ,000. W. II. Coe was a clubhouse visitor of the day. and conferred with S. C. Hildreth relative to P. Fator riding Pnmpcy in the Derby. *
