FRENCH CANADIAN BY HEAD Outlasts Old Broadway in Close Finish of the Best Race at Northampton Park. AKRON. Ohio, May 6. -In a furious drive, C. V. Parsons French Canadian barely lasted to beat Old Broadway a snort head in the sixth race, which attracted the best field at Northampton Park this aftern6«n. By a similar margin Bock of Ages just lasted to save third from Jaunebar. French Canadian showed the way throughout, but only the superior finish put up by jockey Dvminick earned him the verdict. Old Broadway came from far back and was overhauling the winner with every stride. Weather conditions could not have been improved upon and another big crowd was in attendance. Showing the way by a comfortable margin throughout, jockey Rausser piloted Uncle A Into an easy victory in the opening contest. Spontaneous, always in closest pursuit, easily-held second place safe from Hun Conaway. the latter tiring in the stretch. After racing Beg Pardon into defeat Acquitted scored with something to spare over M ve On Seth in the following race. Meg Pardon hung on long enough to save third money. Finishing with a rush on the outside while rounding the last turn. North Pine disposed of Molir.ero and Wise Quf with little effort in the stretch. Although he suffered interference from the winner at the turn for home hfolinero outstayed Wise QUf for second place during the final drive. Tom Micks. Padlock and ArtieleN. was the order to the stretch in the fourth race. When straightened out Tom Micks tired and Article X. outgamed Padlock in the final drive. Sudan Crass was up in time to get third from Tom Micks by a short margin. Brass Hand also showed the way at all stages of the fifth numner. hut won by a j more comfortable margin. Pugs retained the place handily, but it w;us only after keen J urging in the stretch that Harry B. outlasted Donna Santa for the show honors.
