j BUSY TIME FOR STEWARDS i Trainers and Jockeys Licensed — Lunsford Given Permission to Ride for J. J. Coughlin. LOUISVILLE, Ky.. May 7.— The Kentucky Jockey Club stewards put in a busy session i at their track office this morning going over a considerable amount of business that came before them. Licenses were granted to a number of trainers, apprentice jockeys and agents of several stables. Grover Noel, jockey who was ruled off by • the Kentucky State Pacing Commission, appeared before the stewards for permission to i gallop horses in the morning. He was told that under the rules he would not be per-| mitted on any part of the grounds at any time, and any owner or trainer who harbored him would be sus| ended. Jockeys M. Garner. E. Pool. J. Heupel, E. Scobie, J. Kederis, N". Barrett and J. H. Burke, who have been granted probationary licenses only, had a somewhat lengthy session with the stewards and were notified that their future riding and conduct generally would be scrutinized closely and that any derelictions would meet with prompt revocation of licenses. J. J. Coughlin appeared before the stewards with a" plea for jockey Harry Lunsford, who had previously been denied a license by the committee. He stated that Lunsford had been working for him for six months, that he-wished to have him ride his horses and that lie would guarantee the boys conduct while in his employ. Bunsford was subsequently i given a probationary license. The matter of jockeys agents came before the stewards and all applicants were notified that under the rules and instructions from the Kentucky Pacing Commission no agents would be permitted. Only the owner or trainer or the jockey himself can make such arrangements. Trainers licenses granted: David Shaw, hew Bloom, W. C. Weant, D. S. Fountain. Geo. II. Strate, C. S. Stubbs, W. II. Brennon, Olin Johnson, John K. Pevic and Frank Tyler. Jockey licenses granted: John Corcoran, H. Bunsford, probationary. Jockey apprentice licenses : J. Jones, contract ; O. Knebelkamp.
