AURORA NOW TURF MECCA Over 500 Horses Already Quar ¬ tered at Exposition Park Outside Stabling Accommodation Arranged ArrangedFor For to Take Care of Overflow Track in Fine Condition AURORA III May 13 Two years ago they encountered much trouble cnducing owners to ship their race horses to Aurora to race at a brand new and untried track Now manager Cliff Trimble and his assistants in assigning stable room Francis Dunne and Art Blanchard are having a hard time keep ¬ ing them away Already more than 500 thoroughbreds are on the ground waiting the meeting which opens the Chicago district racing season on May 20 five days after the running of the Kentucky Derby DerbyAfter After canvassing farmers within a radius of two miles of the track and renting all the cow sheds machinery huts and other outhouses available and building horse stalls therein manager Trimble announces that there is aggregate space for 1000 horses The Padgett and Dougherty string of eight horses headed by the good sprinter Myrtle Helle are stabled in an old red barn nearly a mile from the race course Space for thirtyeight horses was obtained from ono farmer nearby in a two story machinery and animal outhouse outhouseStall Stall room for more than 300 horses that were headed for the Fox River plant were either refused or cancelled Unexpected call ¬ ing off of the Maple Heights meetings at Cleveland did not help the congestion at Aurora They are crowding them in at the Trimble course this year and prospects arc for big fields from the beginning of the meet ¬ ing right on through the scheduled twenty seven days of racing racingThe The Exposition Park track is in fine condi ¬ tion and faster than ever this spring Train ¬ ing operations are already under way and daily the course is crowded with horses being prepared for the forthcoming meeting
